GAMEX 2018 – Exmouth Celebrates 50th Anniversary of Game Fishing Tournament

Set the lines, polish the reels and oil the lures … GAMEX 2018 is gearing up to celebrates the 50th tournament anniversary!

Exmouth Game Fishing Club’s (EGFC) game and sport fishing tournament will be an event not to be missed, held on the 16th - 24th March 2018.

Western Australia's premier game fishing event will once again be hosted in the warm waters off Exmouth’s Ningaloo Reef.

The once small local fishing event started in 1969 and today is one of Western Australia's prestigious game fishing events bringing in around 300 people from all over the world for the 6 day long competition.

GAMEX has broken more state, national and world records than any other Australian fishing tournament.

With over 40 game fish species on offer the event showcases more diverse fishing action than any other sports fishing event in Australia.

The fishing event has 25 different prize categories targeting over 35 different species, including all six Australian billfish species.

“The event’s autumn time slot is the best time of year for fishing off Exmouth, and the many fun and educational activities surrounding the event this year will make GAMEX 2018 one not to be missed!” - Exmouth Game Fishing Club President, Dennis Bryan-Smith told Fishingworld.
For all the first time participants GAMEX has introduced an introductory initiative incentive offering up to 50 new participants with free entry, and also offering existing anglers a reduced entry fee. Valuable local guidance on how and where to fish in Exmouth waters will also be offered to new participants. Find out more information here.
